It is important to note that in this contemporary world and with the advent and increasing use of technology, there is a need for members to become savvy and conversant with digitization, social media and tech. This is something the digital Skills training will provide for all members.
The training session will be facilitated by a Resource Person or Trainer from Google, who will lead the participants through what Digital Skills entails and how it can best be utilized for personal, business or career growth.
Plans have been made to hold the training in earnest, and the Executives are presently working hard to secure a venue to host the event, while also putting other things in place.
The Founder of the Group, Oladimeji Shotunde, in his response to the initiative, said that the need for members to be digitally inclined and oriented cannot be overemphasized. He considered the initiative as a step in the right direction and promised to give whatever support, needed to bring the event into reality. It's hoped that the process of securing a venue and other necessaries will not be too tedious and tasking.
The EXCEL MINDS Academic Group sees this as a way to further orientate and educate members on Digital Skills, which would be in further propagation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).
